Land Art Generator Initiative – 20 November 2015

The Land Art Generator Initiative combines art, urban design and sustainable energy. We are working on a site in Glasgow that is the subject of a current LAGI competition so I went along to see if I could answer any of the queries for the competing teams and their advisors.

Lagi One - 20 November 2015The combination of designers, artists and engineers makes for amazing submissions and a broad range of questions.

Lagi Two - 20 November 2015I look forward to seeing the ideas for Glasgow in January. Previous submissions are here.

Lagi Three - 20 November 2015

Architects on Sauchiehall Street 2 February 2014

Alexander Greek Thomson & Charles Rennie Mackintosh from a dry café on a soaked Saturday on Sauchiehall Street. Just how I remember it.AGT & CRM 2 February 2014I lived round here but never drew these. The art school inspires awe as much for the list of inspirational characters who’ve come out of the place as for the qualities of the extraordinary building. I spend my time drawing the Scottish Parliament now, a similarly extraordinary place, though it’s early days for it’s own list of characters.

Bridgeton 8 July 2013

Bridgeton. There’s loads of space to develop. The new stuff is as good as the legacy buildings from the area’s industrial heyday.  The Library/ Grade A Office/ Boxing Gym is a super building with an approach to mixed use you’d expect to have been vetoed at some point.

I came by bike after well balanced Saltire Awards judging in Edinburgh and toured around by car. The car reckoned it was 30 degrees.

Cool business space from a snooker hall:
